Carpentersville FD responds to 82 fires
in 2018

Carpentersville Fire District responded
to 450 calls in 2018 - 4.2 percent more than the previous
year, according to data from the National Fire Incident
Reporting System.
The calls in Carpentersville included
82 fires - 48 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 25
other fires. The fire department also responded to six calls
for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $519,151 in
fire loss - or about $6,331 per fire.
The department also received 362 false
calls, including seven malicious calls and 355 other false
calls.
The calls resulted in two civilian
fire-related injuries. Additionally, one fire service member
was injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Carpentersville Firefighters
Pension Fund, which has 34 active employees and 30 retired
or inactive employees, was $1,430,482 positive as of
December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with
the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to
$16,829 for every fire in 2017.
